I have no new pictures, so I thought I would fill everyone in on other things going on in the Freeman household.
Libby started preschool last week. She attends the same program as Ben. It is a special program through the school district for children with delays. They both go Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 3:00. Libby rose the bus with Ben on Thursday for the first time. The program (it's called PEEC) is wonderful and they have really taken Libby's leg issues seriously. They have provided her with a wheelchair to get on and off the bus. No one is allowed to carry her on and off the bus for liability purposes and they didn't want her crawling on and off because it is so dirty. So she wheels out in her wheelchair and rides a lift on to the bus. They then use the wheel chair to take her to her classroom. During the rest of the day the wheelchair is here at our house. We have been letting her and the other two ride in it. Libby has figured out how to move the wheels to get herself around the house. We figure she will need to use it after surgery until her leg heals, so we are taking advantage of the time now to make it a "cool" thing.
Speaking of surgery, Libby is scheduled to start the pre-surgery appointments and such on January 5. If we go that route, we assume her surgery will be schedule in mid to late January. We are getting a second opinion through the Shriner's Hospitals for Children. We have a telemedicine appointment on December 15. The doctor will be in CA while we are here in Tucson, but they will use some type of video so we can meet and discuss her options.
Ben is doing well. We are having some issues with him hitting. If you have any advice, please share. We know he has some trouble paying attention at school. He is very easily distracted. We had an evaluation done a few weeks ago, but I did not care for the therapist. So we have another evaluation scheduled for early December with a therapist who does Sensory Integration Dysfunction therapy. We just want to make sure we are getting him all the help he needs to reach his full potential.
Abby has been sleeping in her room for several weeks now and is doing awesome. She has not have any problems with the transition. Libby is also sleeping better with Abby in the room with her. I think they both feel safer knowing the other is in the room with them.
Most of you know the housing market has dropped significantly. We are trying to decide if now is a good time to look into buying a larger house. Our 1600 square feet seemed to get filled, especially with our two recent additions. We have found a 2571 sq ft house that we really like and may be able to get a good deal. Please pray for us as we make this tough decision.
On a positive and exciting note... Mama got a promotion at work this last week. I am now the VP, Human Resources at CyraCom. I have been hoping for a VP title for some time and am pleased to be recognized for my efforts. Given the state of the economy, I feel extra blessed to not just have a job, but to have received a promotion.
Brian is doing well and keeping busy. He already has a few workshops lined up for January and February and will start teaching again in January as well. Not sure where he will find the time to prepare for the classes, but we will work something out.
