Ben started Kindergarten on August 3. He has grown up so fast and I am still getting used to the idea of my baby being in Kindergarten.
He doesn't look very happy in this picture, but he was excited about school. This is more of a refusal to smile for the camera. He has hit the age that he is either sticking out his tongue or scowling for most pictures. :)
Ben got a new Spiderman lunch bag for school. On his first day, Mama had packed it with Goldfish crackers, a fruit and jello cup, a juice box and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He was excited to check it out and see what was inside.
Since starting school, one of his teacher's has sent us a few picture of him at school. He is doing very well, as these pictures show.

After one full week of school, Ben came down with Strep. He missed Monday and Tuesday, but was back in school on Wednesday. He missed school so much while out sick and just could not understand why we would not let him go. Try explaining to an excited Kindergartener that he is sick... he did not believe us, despite the 104 degree fever.
Libby returned to preschool on Monday, Aug 3 as well. She was so excited to be back in school, but a little mad that she doesn't get to go every day, all day, like Ben. We have to discuss this every morning because the bus doesn't pick her up until 12:30. She doesn't go to school on Tuesday and Friday and is so bummed all day.
Uncle Jerry came for a visit too. The kids had a great time with him and he was wonderful with the kids. While Ben was at school, he helped entertain the girls. We all enjoyed having him around and are looking forward to his next visit.
