It's been a good day and I need to chronicle this event to remind me in the future that we do have good days. Last week was rough. I felt like Libby was in time-out all day, every day and Abby was just annoying. Both seem to be going through some stage that has been very tough. Then today, they surprised me. Libby and Abby played together this morning very well. They picked up their toys without issues and did not fight. I played baby dolls with them for awhile, as I'm the diaper specialist.
Libby went to school at 12:30 and Abby went to nap at 1:00 with no fight. When Libby got home and Abby got up from nap, they continued to play together well. Ben came home and joined right in with not too many problems. After dinner we played Chutes and Ladders together as a family. This was our first attempt at a game with our kids, so considering that, it went very well. It was a little painful, but all in all we had a good time.
I did learn a few things...
1) Chutes and Ladders is a never-ending game
2) Libby is competitive and gets the ideas of rules (and figured out how to cheat)
3) Ben is a poor loser, and wants to make up his own rules.
4) Abby just wanted to spin the spinner over and over again.
After as much of the game as they could take (probably 30 minutes or so) we went for a walk. All three kids are now at the bar in the kitchen doing homework. Ben is doing his real homework, Libby is working on a book she brought home from school to color and Abby is supposed to be coloring an "A" from an alphabet coloring book. The girls think they are pretty big sitting here doing homework with their big brother.
It is about time for me to start getting them ready for bed. Let's hope this good day will continue, even through bed time!

Thanks for the good report. Those prayers of mine must be working, finally! I know you are a busy Mom and I think of you continually.
