We had our first trip to the ER today. Mama had to go to the lab this morning for a 3hr glucose test. I returned home around noon to find my husband in the bathroom with Abby crying. I stayed out of the way until Papa said, "I think we need to go to ER. She has a deep gash on the back of her head."

So, off we went. We were not sure what happened. Brian said he heard a loud "BONK" and then crying. When he got in the room, she was holding her face. He held her and then realized there was quite a bit of blood. He took her into the bathroom and found the gash on the back of her head.

We first took her to an Urgent Care facility and they cleaned the wound and were going to give her stitches. But our little drama queen would not stay still enough for them to get it sewed up. The doctor there discovered it was deep (all the way to the skull) and he was having a hard time keeping all her hair out of the way. He finally sent us on to the nearest hospital ER. At the ER, they decided to put in staples. They did not have to sedate her, but rather held her down and very quickly put in 3 staples. Abby screamed, but all in all, she was very brave. She handled the whole thing as well as to be expected. Please keep her in your prayers because she has one BAD headache!
