Libby continues to do very well. Last night she made her way across our house from her bedroom to our bedroom to get in bed with Mama and Papa. I was a bit shocked to find her at the side of my bed in the middle of the night when I didn't think she could get around without her wheel chair.
She is handling the loss of her leg well. When she first got to her room at the hospital, she asked me where her toes were. I told her they were gone, just like we talked about. Since then she has not asked and seems to be taking it all in stride. We went to Chick-fil-A Tuesday night as usual (we go every Tuesday night for family night). Libby had a Chick-fil-A band-aid on her leg. She was showing the cow band-aid to her friends at the restaurant with great pride. We have had some challenges in keeping her bandage on. She saw the doctor on Monday and they redressed her leg. But the new dressing slipped right off during the night Monday night. Brian had to re-redress her leg Tuesday morning. But then later that afternoon, a blanket caught on the velcro of the protector and ripped the whole thing off. It even ripped at the stitches a bit and she bled a little. She handled it all very well, but Papa had to re-re-redress it. Today we got some extra supplies, including purple and red co-flex so we can wrap it up very pretty!

On another note... the fire fighters brought the fire truck to Ben's school today. Since coming home from school that is all Ben can think and talk about. He found his fire fighter helmet, a coat, boots and something to use as his air tank. While day light, he used his red wagon as the fire truck. We had to get a picture of Ben in his fire fighter out fit.

I am so glad to hear Libby is doing well!! I hope you have passed the greatest challenges associated with this surgery. Don't kids amaze you how quickly they can adapt and adjust?
