Saturday was the Freeman start of the Christmas Holiday. Ben and Papa went to Happy Happy Depot (Home Depot) and made a wagon while Mama and Abby and Libby went to PetSmart to look at fish, kitties and doggies. We met back together and headed out to see Santa and get our tree.
Here the kids are all buckled in ready for a fun day. Ben has the rope for attaching the tree to the top of the car.

When we got to the Foothills Mall where Santa was visiting, we found a parking lot full of fire trucks. Ben would never let us drive by fire trucks without stopping, so we parked near the trucks and the kids checked them out. The fire department was doing a toy drive. All three of our kids got a candy cane, their first of the season.
All three kids in the cab of the fire truck. We then went to see Santa. Benjamin asked for a race car, Libby asked for drums (that's what Ben was going to ask for) and Abby asked for a Baby Doll. Libby actually wants make-up, a necklace, bracelet, sunglasses, and shoes, but she had to say what Ben's been saying for some reason. See the post from Saturday for a picture of the kids with Santa!
Since my kids cannot read this, I can tell you what Santa is bringing them. Ben is getting a Spiderman bike, Libby and Abby are getting a doll house with a family and lots of furniture.
Ben is getting fireman stuff from Mama and Papa. Libby is getting a scooter and Abby is getting a doll bed and high chair for her baby dolls from Mama and Papa.
Papa is also making each one something special from wood. Ben is getting a garage for his Chevron cars, Libby is getting an easel and Abby is getting a barn for her little ponies.

After seeing Santa, the kids had to stop and play for a few minutes. Libby and Abby went down the slides and climbed on the equipment while Ben begged to drive one of the cars.
We then went to R&R Pizza for lunch. The kids call it Choo Choo Train Pizza because there is train stuff all around. There is even a train that runs around the top of the restaurant and the kids can push a button to make it run. They love to push the button!
After pizza, we went to Happy Happy Depot for our tree. Libby and Abby took picking the tree very seriously. Ben tried to help out a bit, but was easily distracted by all the other stuff around.

Once a tree was picked, we loaded it on the van. Ben, Libby and Abby were very concerned about the tree on the van. We headed straight home and prepared for decorating!

Papa and Ben were responsible for getting the tree ready, while Mama, Libby and Abby got the living room ready. We had a few thing to pick up and we even rearranged furniture a bit.

Once the tree was in and up, the kids couldn't wait to get into the ornaments and start decorating the tree. We put lights on and put a train track around the base. The kids put most of the ornaments on, but Mama had to help out a bit or there would have just been one row of ornaments along the bottom of the tree.

Each year, each kids gets a new ornament. Ben's first ornament was an Elmo in 2006. In 2007 he got a dog ornament and in 2008 he got a school bus. This year we gave him a Snazzy Ball (Disco Ball). He did not want to put it on the tree because he liked it so well, but it ended up broken 10 minutes later. Thankfully, Papa found a new one today.

The girls also got special ornaments. Last year Libby got a bear and Abby got a red wagon. This year, they both got ballerina toe shoes since both have recently started ballet lessons. The little pink shoes were glittery which made them even better!
We had a great time together on Saturday. I was proud of my little family and enjoyed the day with them. It is nice to see them growing and blossoming into little people.

Thank you so much for this wonderful post Pam. Just warmed my heart on this snowy morning in Joe town. Indeed it is heart warming to see your family growing and why not with such loving parents. Our prayers and thoughts are with you as the time approaches for a growing Freeman family. Love you
