Sacrifices

There are so many people who have made sacrifices for our girls. I was touched today watching Melanie, Logan and Lilly talk about Melanie's upcoming absence. Melanie has been preparing Lilly and Lilly is not happy about her mommy going to Russia. I am touch by the sacrifice all three are making on our behalf. Melanie will be away from her husband and little girl for almost 4 weeks, while trapped in a hotel room with my little one. Logan will be a single dad for almost 4 weeks, watching Lilly and keeping the daycare running. I know he will also miss his wife. Lilly is even making sacrifices as she gives up her mommy and her good friend Ben for this long trip. She may not understand it all now, but someday we will thank her for the sacrifices she made.

We received some money for the trip from family today, and I know they have made sacrifices in giving to us. There have been many others who have given us gifts from pennies to one hundred dollar bills. And when I think of monetary gifts, I can't help but think of the lavish gift our church provided this winter that truly made the whole adoption possible. All of these gifts required sacrifices.

I may never be able to thank you all, but I pray God will bless you for the sacrifices you have made for our children. Adoption is about creating families. Unfortunately, it is expensive. But it is a service and I believe God blesses those who help Him place orphans in homes. Psalm 68:6 says, "God sets the lonely in families..." Thank you for helping Jesus place our children into our loving home. May we be good parents, leading them to know Jesus.
