I have to blog about last night, just to document it. Someday, I will look back and laugh, I hope.

A little introductory info...

  • Mama has been sick since last Friday - cold, sore throat and no voice
  • Papa came down with Mama's cold yesterday, and it hit him hard - he took NyQuil last night
  • We decided to put Libby on the floor in our room at night. She appears to have nightmares and wakes up a lot crying or even screaming.
  • Abby is still Mama's little Sputnik (always circling Mama like a satellite)
  • We all have jet lag!

So here was last night

  • 8:30 - Abby asleep in her room - she went down easily
  • 9:00 - Ben and Libby asleep on the floor in Mama and Papa's room
  • 10:00 - Mama and Papa went to sleep
  • 11:48 - Abby cries (baby monitor) but stops quickly and goes back to sleep
  • 11:49 - Libby wakes up crying "pea-sit" (means I gotta pee) - Mama takes her to potty and brings her back to the bed on the floor. She motions to go up in Mama and Papa's bed. I told her "no" and held and rocked her for awhile, then laid her down next to Ben. She continued to be upset, crying softly.
  • 12:10 - Papa lays down by Libby to calm her and help her get to sleep
  • 1:30 - Papa comes back to bed
  • 1:31 - Ben climbs in bed with Mama and Papa - Ben tosses and turns (not sleeping well)
  • 2:15 - Abby cries from her room (screams is more like it) - Mama goes to try to calm her and put her back to bed. Mama found her with one leg hanging over the crib rail.
  • 3:15 - Ben wonders into Abby's room - Mama tells him to go back to bed
  • 3:30 - Ben is still walking back and forth between his room and Mama and Papa's room
  • 3:35 - Papa trades-off with Mama because Abby is still refusing to go back to sleep - Mama puts Ben to bed in his own room - turn on the light, turn on the CD player, tuck him in, kiss, nose wiggle, etc.
  • 3:45 - Mama in living room to wait for Papa - hears Libby crying - goes to Libby to comfort her, hears Ben yelling "Mama".
  • 3:50 - Return to Ben to get him something to drink - hear Libby crying again
  • 4:00 - Mama holding Libby, Papa returns to bed - decide to bring Libby in bed with us so we can maybe sleep.
  • 4:20 - Ben comes into the room - he has to go potty and his CD is almost over and needs to be restarted - Mama takes him potty and gets music going.
  • 4:50 - Abby starts to cry - we let her, hoping she will go back to sleep on her own
  • 4:55 - Mama gets up to go put Abby back to bed
  • 5:20 - Abby is quiet (not asleep, but rolled on her side away from the door) - Mama heads to the couch to try to sleep sitting up so I won't cough.
  • 5:35 - Abby cries again - Mama goes in and holds her and rocks her while I try to close my eyes for a few moments
  • 6:00 - Mama gives up and comes out to the living room - I put on a movie and Abby and I sat on the cough and watched
  • 8:00 - Papa comes out and starts breakfast
  • 8:10 - Abby cries - Ben wakes up
  • It's now 8:30 - Abby is crying again and I am expecting Libby to wake up any minute. Papa is making biscuits and gravy.
  • Libby just woke up!

I hope this doesn't sound like complaining. I am actually looking at all this and just have to laugh. We hope nights will get better. I knew life in the Freeman house would be crazy, but I am hoping to sleep through the night again!

Hello Freeman 5 and welcome home......and welcome to the world of new family.
I have to chuckle at your description of your night..believe me, it's like bringing home a new baby but you have 2 new babies and 1 who has been "displaced"....all three from a totally different time zone so their sleep patterns are really messed up, new surroundings for the girls, new foods, but most important, NEW LOVE, oh so much to adjust to, and adjust you will. Each and every day will get easier, lots of prayers and patience.....Brian, that is your area of expertise.

Gentle words and lots of hugs and kisses, the international language :)
I am so happy to know that you are home safely despite your cold Pam...you will feel much better soon, I am sure of that.

Remember, the offer still stands, whenever you need a sitter....give me a call.

My love to each of you...
Judy

That was quite a story with the times and details of the evening. Goodness. I hope you have time to get better. :0) You really have your hands full, maybe you should have someone move in with you so there is a 1 to 1 ratio. (haha) Juuuuuuuuust teasin' I love the Russian chatter from the girls, that's got to be fun. I also love the pictures; it's great to see them all together in your home.
Hang in there all of you, I know it will take some time and I know you know this but remember, eventually everyone will settle in just like Ben did. YOU HAVE YOUR GIRLS HOME finally and that's the most important thing!
I'm so happy for you all and pray for you and Brian to get better quick. I had a dream about meeting the girls last night, it was neat. :0)
I hope you all have a great Sunday and will check up on the blog again soon.
Hang in there,
Tam
