Ben's Special Day
Our church had a special party and dinner for Benjamin today. The fellowship hall was decorated with trains and streamers as we celebrated the blessing we have received in Benjamin. Our church has been such a source of prayer support throughout the adoption. It was great to be able to celebrate Benjamin with them. We were blessed with many gifts including new
clothes and diapers. I am constantly amazed at the amount of diapers we go through! Benjamin enjoyed being the center of attention. He was a little bored after eating, but once the presents started coming he was pretty happy. After we had opened gifts, Benjamin stood up in his high chair, put his hands in the air as if to say "ta da". Had we been home
, he would have spoken up, but in crowds he doesn't say much. Everyone clapped for him, so he joined in and clapped. He is such a charmer. Benjamin had his first cupcake and he only ate the frosting off the top. He was asleep within minutes of getting in his car seat and he slept for quite awhile once we got home.
Benjamin's vocabulary continues to grow. He now knows the word "kitty" and he enjoys annoying the kitty. In his mind, cats have tails so there is something to pull on.
