I didn't get around to posting yesterday...

So on Tuesday, we headed down to the lobby at 10:15 like all the other days. Sveta greeted us and told us the day's plans were up to us. We could go to either home and pick up either girl for the day. My first thought... "don't make me choose which daughter to spend the day with." Well, we hadn't seen Libby since Saturday so we decided to go out to the camp and pick her up. She ended up spending the entire day with us until 9:00 last night.

We went out for lunch and then came back to the hotel for nap time. After nap, we walked to the park and then to a children's cafe that has a play area. Libby and Ben did much better this time. Libby seemed more comfortable with all of us and enjoyed playing. She didn't fight for my attention as much. But when she doesn't get her way, she can sure give a look. Her displeasure is very clear.

After spending these days with our girls, we are realizing we were completely wrong in our first impressions. Libby is not the outgoing, active one. She is actually very quiet. She does talk and even sings, but it is very quiet. She is easy to distract when getting into things she shouldn't.

Today, we have Abby here at the hotel again. We went to lunch and now Ben and Abby are taking naps. We will be taking Abby to get her passport photo very soon. We have learned that Abby is loud. She talks and sings, but loud enough that everyone can hear her. She is impatient and cries when she doesn't get her way. If you try to stop her from doing something she shouldn't she just laughs and tries again. She laughes with each "no-no". Today she did not want to take a nap. She threw a major fit. The only way I got her to sleep was to rock her, but then she'd cry when I went to lay her down. It's hard to get frustrated because I am guessing today was the first time she ha ever been rocked to sleep in someone's arms. It was nice to have her lay there and look up at me as her eyelids got heavy.

We were interviewed for a TV news report this morning. They have promised not to show it until after our 10-day wait (appeal period). The reporter is pro international adoption and she is doing a story about Americans being back here in Tomsk and explaining the process so people in Tomsk can understand that there are caring people who want to adopt these children. We agreed to do the interview hoping it may help others in the future here in Tomsk. Please pray that our efforts will not back fire on us. It's difficult to trust people in this situation, but we also want to help others who will come after us. (Jennifer, that's you!)
