Monday was a very busy day for the Freeman's.
The day started with a trip to the dentist for Ben and Libby. Both had their teeth cleaned and both got good reports. Everything looks good, no cavities, and they are brushing pretty well. Yay!

After the dentist we had a few minutes at home, then it was off to the hospital. Abby and Libby stayed with Melanie while Mama and Papa took Ben to TMC for his tests. Ben was brave at first, but, after 40 hours of no food, only liquids, and lots of Miralax, he was pretty done in. Once we put him on the stretcher he freaked out a bit and started crying. I can't blame him a bit. It had to be scary for such a little guy.
We were able to calm him down and he watched TV on Mama's cell phone. Gotta love technology! Then they came and got him to take him back for the gas. We told him they would put a mask on him like a firefighter and he thought that was pretty cool. At first he didn't want to go with them, but we assured him we'd be waiting for him and he rolled off very bravely with no tears.
The procedures did not take long and the doctor said everything looks good, but they will know more once they look at the biopsies. We will learn more next week. We are glad things looked good, but a little disappointed, as we were hoping for some answers.

He had a tough time coming out of the anesthesia, and we learned that they actually pump a little air into your colon for the tests, so he had a lot of gas pain. he cried quite a bit. We had promised to go to the Dinosaur McDonald's when finished. While crying, he kept telling the nurse he wanted to leave. We were desperately trying to make him comfortable. Here's a snippet of the conversation, keep in mind, Ben was crying through most of it.
Mama: "Do you want to lay on your back?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want to lay on your tummy?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want to lay on your side?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want to go potty?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want to go to McDonald's?"
Ben: "Yes"
Mama: "Do you want some apple juice?
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want a Popsicle?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "Do you want some crackers?"
Ben: "No"
Mama: "What do you want to eat?"
Ben: "French fries"

He finally started feeling better, and we were able to take him to the Dinosaur McDonald's. He wasn't really ready for fried foods, so he just had a few of Mama's fries. He was happy!

I'm so happy these tests are behind little Ben. Sure took the smile off his face for a while. Certainly would have mine. In fact I can relate but I was an adult. Sure proud of Ben. I'm always praying for the busy Freeman household. These are great pictures you have posted. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Pam, Just sent you an email. I am not sure if I have the right email address. Mine is meyersinjax@yahoo.com

Just wanted to let you know I have been down the road you are on and I'm here if you want to talk. Took 2 yrs to find out what was going on with Jack. NOT saying this is/will happen with you. But I know what it is like to not have answers...

Sending love,
Katie

I have got to say that I have one really brave Grandson. We are glad that it is over for now. May take sometime to figure out what is going on with Ben. Looks like all that swimming really wore Ben out and probably the girls also. Thanks for keeping us posted.
